Chapter 1: Before
A Fresh Start
What began as a neglected mobile home, mishandled through several ill-fated remodeling attempts, was given a new lease on life through a complete gut renovation. The homeowner meticulously salvaged usable elements, such as the existing laminate flooring, removing each plank by hand to preserve its potential.
Chapter 2: The Plan
The remodel drawings: construction notes for each room, and the dimensioned plan.
Chapter 3: The Design
Sustainability Meets Creativity
The entire remodel was executed with sustainability in mind, using repurposed materials sourced from local thrift stores, Craigslist, and Facebook Marketplace. Cabinets from another remodel, appliances purchased second-hand, and tiles in limited quantities from Habitat for Humanity ReStore shaped the home's eclectic yet harmonious design. Each room tells a story of resourcefulness and ingenuity.
Inspired by Found Pieces
A red sofa and turquoise chair left behind by a previous renter became the inspiration for the home's vibrant decor palette. These colorful pieces informed the design choices throughout the 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom space, creating a warm, inviting aesthetic. This unique Airbnb embodies charm, character, and a celebration of reclaimed beauty.
“Each room tells a story of resourcefulness and ingenuity.”
