Chapter 3: The Design
Pain Points
The existing shower felt cramped and lacked the sense of luxury and functionality the clients desired for their primary suite.
There was a desire to incorporate separate vanities, allowing for individualized storage
The clients envisioned a larger, freestanding bathtub as a sculptural focal point, offering both visual impact and a more spa-like bathing experience.
The primary closet’s awkward layout failed to maximize storage capacity or support an organized, seamless wardrobe experience.
Solutions
We reimagined the primary bath as a luxurious, highly functional retreat.
The undersized shower became a spacious wet room with dual zones, each featuring rain heads and handhelds
The freestanding tub, now within a 10-foot glass enclosure in front of the windows, serves as a sculptural centerpiece anchoring the space.
Two separate vanities include illuminated LED medicine cabinets; her vanity adds a powered drawer for styling tools.
The awkward closet was squared off and fitted with enclosed cabinetry, maximizing storage and creating a tailored aesthetic.
The Guest Baths
Two additional bathrooms were refreshed with updated materials and fixtures, maintaining the original layouts.
While the locations of plumbing and fixtures remained unchanged, each space was reimagined with thoughtfully selected materials and finishes to create a sense of renewed style and sophistication.
The clients selected their preferred aesthetic from three curated material palettes, ensuring both bathrooms reflected their tastes while harmonizing with the overall home design.
